Bologna city report by Repo/BSA | 08/12 - 2003

Bologna has always been one of the most important cities in Italy for its writing scene along with Milan and Rome.
Trainbombing had a big part in this scene, especially during its golden age: around 1995/96 an incredible amount of panels and full-colour end to ends was constantly coming out from Bologna to spread around Italy. At the time the famous Bologna Ravone yard (the biggest italian depot) was a quiet place to paint and was full of every kind of italian trains and prototypes.
Names like Longe, Chob, Texas, Jed and the rest of RB crew were on every train standing at the central station and writers from the rest of Italy and from various places around Europe were constantly paying a visit to Bologna.

Another important role was played also by the Suburbana line, a local line that runs from Bologna to a place not far, and by a lay-up near the central station: during 98 and 99 a lot of end to ends and panels done by people from BBS and BSA crews (Chob, Gec, Fish, Race, Grom, Repo, More, Med) were running on the Milan-Ancona line.

Right now, after a lot of things has changed (Suburbana trains locked up in guarded hangars, Ravone yard patroled by guards with dogs and so on) and trains has become more difficult to paint, the writers who are painting trains on regular basis are Chob, Repo, Gec, Fish, Duchamp, P25; writers like Grom and Longe still do some panels and people from other cities and other countries are keeping on coming to Bologna to bomb trains with BBS, BSA and THE crews even if seeing your piece standing at the station gets more difficult every day.
